Greetings internet. Wouldn’t you know, it’s been another week, so it must be time for another update. And for those of you who think it’s actually been two and a half months since the last update, I’ll just say, Don’t Think About It!
So, with that established, let me get right to the main event of this weeks update: A New Game! Allow me to introduce:
DUMB TRUCK
CREATED BY: BROSEPH
In Dumb Truck you drive around in a truck, but it doesn’t always drive how you want, since it’s kinda dumb, but that’s where it gets fun! In this game, you’ll bound through bumpy obstacle courses, weave through winding raceways, and take on tricky towing trials, all while trying to prevent your Dumb Truck from flipping, spinning, or bouncing to its doom. It’s a wild ride, and good dumb fun!
With this game, we took what we learned in the 2D space with Ball Bounce, and expanded our ideas to the third dimension. Along with being able to play around with those z-vertices, our goals were to create a game with multiple different objective types, as well as expanding those objective types across multiple levels. We also explored ideas of checkpointing, profile customization, and level unlock structures.
We hope you enjoy a ride in our fun Dumb Truck. See if you can make it all the way to the end of the road, and challenge your friends to see who can make it there the fastest!
We are very proud of our work on this latest gaming endeavor, and by “our work”, I of course mean the work of one of us. Broseph did virtually all the work on the project, and deserves all the kudos that come with it. You could say the rest of us helped in play testing Dumb Truck, but I’m sure any contributions we provided in that area were offset by the frustrations we caused Broseph in constantly suggesting a mountain of unneeded and overly complicated new features to program. Thankfully, he was able to tune out our ridiculous requests, and kept his game in scope.
Speaking of which, I don’t want to go too long with this update, but I will just mention that we do have some plans for more content in the near future, so stay tuned.
Until then, Yee-haw!
